Few dog breeds are as inseparable from a single industry as the Bodeguero Andaluz is from the sherry trade. The story begins in the sherry-producing heartland of Andalusia — specifically the city of Jerez de la Frontera — where vast underground bodegas, filled with row upon row of aging oak barrels, created ideal conditions for rats and mice to multiply unchecked. Rodent infestations threatened both the stored wine and the wooden infrastructure of the cellars, creating an urgent practical need that no human worker alone could solve.
