Content and illustrations created with AI assistance. Educational material, not veterinary advice. Our approach
This edition combines three parts in one file. The total page count includes general content, the breed-specific section and the planner; it does not refer only to breed-specific text.
A reading foundation covering home preparation, everyday care, nutrition, training and life together. These chapters are shared across the collection and provide context before the breed-specific section.
History, profile and breed-specific care topics organized into ten chapters. Browse the list below and read a short history excerpt to get a feel for the writing style.
Pages for your records, details, dates and memories within the same PDF. Print only the sheets you need. This is not an app, and fillable form fields are not advertised.
From the history chapter in this edition: a short reading sample.
The Terrier Chileno carries one of the most traveled origin stories in canine history — a lineage that crosses two oceans before taking root in the soil of South America. Its ancestry begins in southern Spain, specifically in the province of Cádiz, where English wine merchants established the great sherry cellars of the Marco de Jerez region from the late 18th century onward. These merchants brought Smooth Fox Terriers with them — compact, fierce ratters bred for the tunnels and granaries of the British countryside — to control the rodent populations threatening their valuable barrel stores. Crossbred over time with local Andalusian working dogs, these Fox Terriers gave rise to the Ratonero Bodeguero Andaluz: a white, black-and-tan marked terrier whose name literally means 'wine-cellar rat-hunting dog of Andalusia.' When Spanish colonizers, merchants, and settlers subsequently crossed the Atlantic and established themselves in Chile, they brought these same dogs with them.
